Hi hi
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) role is to provide housing and community development assistance. As a department, HUD has a responsibility to create housing that poses little to no risk to individuals, as in the case of lead and asbestos regulation. Recently, HUD awarded $8.4M to study lead and other environmental health risks, which is important for public health and safety. While HUD is certainly taking steps backward due to Dr. Ben Carson's leadership, HUD is an extremely important U.S. department, as the subsequent results of key decisions have the capacity to affect a large number of individuals.

Did you find anything about how this department works to solve homelessness and what their role is in cities with an overwhelming number of homeless individuals?
ReplyDeleteReally interesting thought Aika, especially as $8.4 million is going into the research of the health risks. I feel like we know a lot of the health risks, what about the evacuation and safe and secure housing support.
